Engaging with stakeholders to help employers identify and tackle immediate labour shortages by facilitating connections between employers and potential recruits.

Creating accessible pathways for Indigenous individuals and other priority groups (mature-aged, disabled, youth, long-term unemployed) to acquire skills and secure employment opportunities.
Supporting Infrastructure Projects
Providing assistance to employers involved in major infrastructure and development projects, aiding them in meeting recruitment needs and diversity targets while emphasising local job placement.
Removing Transportation and Housing Barriers
Supporting initiatives that improve access to employment and training opportunities by addressing transportation and housing challenges, enabling full engagement in the workforce.
The Local Jobs Plan outlines the training and employment obstacles and key priorities within the region, along with strategies aimed at guiding the development and execution of projects to tackle these hurdles.

Job Coordinators
Job Coordinators and Support Officers support the delivery of the program by bringing together key stakeholders including businesses, employment services providers, higher education and training organisations.
Local Jobs and Skills Taskforce
Each Employment Region has its own Taskforce. Representatives include local stakeholders who have demonstrated experience in upskilling, reskilling, and an ability to represent, connect and collaborate with others in the region to meet labour market needs.
Local Recovery and National Priority Funds
The Local Recovery Fund supports projects that meet the priorities identified in the Local Jobs Plan. The National Priority Fund provides funding for innovative local solutions to address structural barriers to employment.
LOCAL JOBS AND SKILLS TASKFORCE
Each Employment Region has a Local Jobs and Skills Taskforce, chaired by the Employment Facilitator.
Taskforce members are highly valued and are reflective of, their community. Taskforce members work collaboratively in developing local solutions to help people gain the right skills to get a job, and in assisting employer workforce needs.
